Abstract

The number of labor force in August 2024 is 1.58 million people, increasing 62.28 thousand people compared to August 2023. Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) by 72.90 percent, an increase of 2.24 percentage points compared to the August TPAK 2023. 
  • The working population is 1.50 million people or an increase of 67.82 thousand people compared to August 2023.  The Agricultural Sector has increased the highest number of workers increased by 29.35 thousand people, followed by the The Manufacturing Industry increased by 25.94 thousand people, and in the service sector increased by 12.53 thousand people.
  • A total of 553.45 thousand people (36.94 percent) worked in the formal activity sector in August 2024, a decrease of 0.59 percentage points compared to August 2023.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2024 was 5.13 percent, down 0.57 percentage points compared to August 2023. 
  • Vocational High School (SMK) graduates have the highest TPT in Malang Regency, which is 8.42 percent, followed by Senior High School (SMA) graduates who have a TPT of 7.12 percent in August 2024.
