Friday, May 23, 2024 BPS Malang Regency collaborated with Ma Chung University to attend the RRI Malang Morning Dialogue with the theme: Collaboration between BPS and Academics in Interpreting Poverty Data.

Guided by presenter Esty Sulistya, Head of BPS Malang Regency Erny Fatma Setyoharini, S.E., M.M. together with the Rector of Ma Chung University Prof. Dr. Stefanus Yufra M. Taneo shared inspiring information discussing the poverty rate in Malang Regency.

It was conveyed in the dialogue that the number of poor people (residents with per capita expenditure per month below the Poverty Line/GK) in Malang Regency in March 2024 will reach 240.14 thousand people. This number decreased by approximately 11.22 thousand people, when compared to the condition in March 2023 which was 251.36 thousand people. The percentage of poor people in Malang Regency has also decreased from 9.45 percent in March 2023 to 8.98 percent in March 2024.
